Introduction to Leather - Spring 2018

This class will offer a basic introduction to tradtional leather working techniques with hand sewing and construction methods. We will make some simple projects together to learn a variety of techniques including pouches, barettes and belts. Then we will take a field trip to Carroll Leather goods to buy leathers for each student to make their own projects.

Cost:   $180  *Covers all materials (with option of purchasing additional).

Evenlight is a local leather artisan, who has been working with leather since 1988. She specializes in environmentally sensitive leathers, and most of her experience is focused on hand stitching and construction methods.  Her area of specialization over the years has been in the creation of bags and accessories.


Registration will begin on the following dates and will remain open until the class fills or three working days before the class starts, whichever comes first:

  • FALL SESSION: August 10 at noon
  • SPRING SESSION: December 1 at noon
  • SUMMER SESSION: May 1 at noon

PLEASE NOTE: You may cancel a craft class up to two weeks before the class begins, with a $30 cancellation fee assessed. No refunds are allowed within two weeks of the start date, nor after the class begins.

PLEASE NOTE: Most classes meet over multiple weeks. Registration for each class is open until the class fills or until three working days before the class begins, whichever comes first. If you miss the registration for this semester we hope you will consider taking this class the next time it is offered.
