Drawing Techniques from Observation - Fall 2019

Registration for FALL classes begins at noon on August 12.

This class provides an opportunity to discover some of the observation skills that the Masters of Art, past and present, employ in order to render objects and figures in correct proportion, depth, and mass. Drawing from life is the best way to create images convincingly.

These are tried and true techniques have yielded amazing results in John Bond's studio for over 23 years. The simple skills that you will discover during this class will help you create your art with the confidence and composure to render any and all subject matter with mastery!   A recent student noted: "This class exceeded my expectations.  It was a good class with lots of personal attention."

John W. Bond is a 1993 graduate of Appalachian State University with a B.S. Degree in Art Education, and he did his graduate work at the University of Colorado. He has been producing and teaching Art ever since.  He believes that every person should be able to create Art in their own way and holds the individual higher than any style of Art or philosophy of Art.  John is also the owner of Art Mart Academy in downtown Boone.

Student Review:  "I have used John to review my work for several years now, and I have learned so much.  I finally signed up for his Drawing class, and I couldn't believe all that I learned.  John's relaxed, laid back style lets you focus on your work and is punctuated by brilliant insights tailored to each artist's skills and personality.  I grew each day of class and came home with a gem I can use to improve my art at home.   -Patrick R.
