Introduction to Keeping Bees Workshop - Spring 2019

                                                                                                                      In this workshop, students will receive an information about the essential aspects of keeping bees before deciding upon enrolling in a longer class or making a long term time and financial commitment that beekeeping requires.

Doug Galloway has been keeping bees for 8 years, is a member of the Watauga, Ashe, Wilkes beekeeping clubs and is President of the Caldwell County Beekeeping Association. He is an active member of the North Carolina State Beekeeping Association, acting as Regional Director for the northern counties of the Mountain District and is Chairman of the NCSBA Master Beekeeper Program committee. Recognized as a Master Beekeeper by both the North Carolina State Beekeepers Association and the Eastern Apiculture Society, Doug has shared his experience and knowledge with local schools, at club functions, State Conferences, bee club chapter meetings, Caldwell Community College and past ASU Craft Enrichment classes.

REGISTRATION:  Registration begins at noon on the dates below, and remains open until the class fills or until three working days before the class begins, whichever comes first. If a date below falls on a weekend or a holiday, registration will open on the first working day after this date:

  • SPRING SESSION 2019:  December 3 at noon
  • SUMMER SESSION 2019:  May 1 at noon
  • FALL SESSION 2019:  August 12 at noon

PLEASE NOTE: You may cancel a craft class up to two weeks before the class begins, with a $30 cancellation fee assessed. No refunds are allowed within two weeks of the start date, nor after the class begins.
