  1. Advanced Pottery Using Wheel Throwing, Slabs, and Coils

Advanced Pottery Using Wheel Throwing, Slabs, and Coils

Instructor:

Playful Pots – Explore form and function of ceramic vessels in this wheel throwing pottery class.  This class is intended for more advanced potters, confident in their throwing skills and capable of throwing a variety of shapes.  The class will include projects combining multiple thrown forms and combining thrown forms with slabs and coils.  We will focus on how to add personal expression in the making process and how to plan the making process in anticipation of surface design.

This class is intended for Advanced students who have taken three or more Craft Enrichment Pottery classes before.

Craft Enrichment pottery classes draw on the individual technical and aesthetic interests of each instructor. Through group instruction, hands-on experiences and individual help, both beginning and advanced ceramics students will expand their knowledge of throwing on the potter’s wheel, hand building, surface decoration, glaze application, and pottery design. A variety of clays and glazes are available for Cone 6 oxidation firing.
