Beginner Pottery Hand Building

Instructor:

This beginner friendly handbuilding class will introduce students to various techniques for creating functional ceramic pieces without using a pottery wheel. Students will focus on techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab construction, as well as learning about various surface design and sculptural elements to personalize their works. They will explore the entire process from making to firing and glazing.

Craft Enrichment pottery classes draw on the individual technical and aesthetic interests of each instructor. Through group instruction, hands-on experiences and individual help, both beginning and advanced ceramics students will expand their knowledge and expertise. A variety of clays and glazes are available for Cone 6 oxidation firing.
