Earth Elements for Intermediate Watercolor

Description

Description

This class is designed for students wishing to move beyond the rudimentary basics of transparent watercolor. The inspiration for the paintings done in these classes will be the 4 elements of earth (earth, wind, water and fire). Students will be working with the wet-on-wet technique. Classes will include lecture, demonstration, meditation, music, readings and critique from which students will draw inspiration.

The goal is to complete 4 paintings by the end of the 5 week session. Students will be expected to continue working on their paintings after critique (if necessary) at home or during class. There will be homework assignments to be critiqued at the beginning of each class.

A review of materials and techniques will take place during the first class session.
