Beginning Quilting -- Summer 2018

In this 8-week class, students will learn the skills required to make a variety of quilted projects, from tote bags and placements to table runners.  Most supplies for learning projects are furnished, but students are welcome to bring fabrics of their choice.  Sewing machines will be available for 6 participants.  Basic sewing knowledge is necessary.

Enrollment: 10 (6 participants who will use a provided sewing machine, 4 who can provide their own machine)
Dates:  Wednesday, May 30 -- July 25  (8 weeks)   *no class July 4
   5:30 pm -- 8:00 pm
Cost:  $160   Most supplies for learning projects are included in the registration fee.

Registration will begin on the following dates and will remain open until the class fills or three working days before the class begins, whichever comes first:

  • FALL SESSION: August 10 at noon
  • SPRING SESSION: December 1 at noon
  • SUMMER SESSION: May 1 at noon

PLEASE NOTE: You may cancel a craft class up to two weeks before the class begins, with a $30 cancellation fee assessed. No refunds are allowed within two weeks of the start date, nor after the class begins.

Susan Sweet has been teaching quilting classes and workshops for the last ten years.  She has a Fine Arts degree in Fiber, and she can be found in her quilting studio when she is not in her garden.  She taught a class for ASU in the “History of the American Quilt” and has a collection of historical quilts she loves to share.  Her aim is to work with new quilters and to make quilting fun!

PLEASE NOTE: Most classes meet over multiple weeks. Registration for each class is open until the class fills or until three working days before the class begins, whichever comes first. If you miss the registration for this semester we hope you will consider taking this class the next time it is offered.
