Chinese Painting: Gong-bi (Elaborate Style) - Not Offered Fall 2019

Come join us as we travel back into history to learn the oldest Chinese painting technique - Gong-bi.  Gong-bi began in the Han Dynasty (206 BC to 221 AD). This delicate style creates dynamic paintings that you will treasure.  Students will learn how to use layers of color and ink to bring their paintings of North Carolina wildflowers and other subjects to life.

We will be using traditional techniques as well as Chinese paper, brushes, ink and color.
